February 2010. New Robinson Victorian Greenhouse - Officially the FIRST display building in the UK

As part of our fantastic 2010 Greenhouse display, we have included a fantastic 8 x 10 (nom) Robinson Victorian Greenhouse in Cream Paint. This wonderful new building is shown on a dwarf wall.

July 2009. LBS Ex-Display Sale begins

For those of you wanting a bargain, we are just about to start our ex-display sale. This is for our main winter changeover, so buildings are pre-sold on a 'first come - first served' basis. We like our local customers to benefit from this, so we won't be putting the details on our website for some time, but just call in quickly and you will soon find a great bargain.

July 2009. Whitehall celebrates 40 years

Whitehall garden centre opened in 1969 after the construction of the A350 road from Chippenham to Poole split the Whitehall family farm in half. Three generations of the family still run the garden centre and a second site in Whitchurch, Bristol, which opened in 2001.
Whitehall Garden Centre managing director Peter Self said: "40 years ago Whitehall Garden Centre in Lacock was just a shed in a five-acre field, today the site covers 22 acres and we have obtained planning permission to extend it further. We also now have a round 180 employees.

Aug 13th 2008. Bi-Fold Doors now available on Bakers Timber Buildings

The new Bakers Bi-Fold Door Garden Room is also available as an adaptation on many of the Contemporary Range of Bakers Timber buildings, the new Bakers Bi-Fold Garden Room was shown at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show in 2008. Part of the Contemporary Range, it is fully Double Glazed, Lined and Insulated. The Bakers Garden Room can be used all year round. These uPVC Doors can open up to 4.5m wide and feature multipoint locking and brushed aluminium handles. The Standard layout includes matching windows to one side.

June 29th 2008. Alton Victorian Pre launch announcement

As you are probably getting to know, we like to be at the leading edge of high quality designs, so we plan to be the first to offer the public a 7 day-a-week viewing opportunity of the NEW Alton Victorian greenhouse.

June 2008. LBS Ex-Display Sale is about to begin

June 2008. Mrs P Self gets MBE at the age of 100

Having recently received her telegram from the queen for reaching 100, Mrs Self has now received an MBE. We say congratulations.

For those that don't know her, she was born in 1907, still works regular hours at the Whitehall Garden Centre and was recently featured on the BBC's 'Money Programme'.

If you want to read up more about Mrs Self - just use google and type in "Britains Oldest Boss" Where Mrs Self gets 9 out of the top 10 listings with Google! Is that another record for Mrs Self?
